The Ferrari 308 Buyer's and Owner's Guide is a book for anyone considering owning a Ferrari 308, or any new owner of a Ferrari 308.
New: Read the book review at VeloceToday.com.
Ever since I was a teenager, I've been in love with the 308 models - GTB, GTS, GTSi, and QVs. They're my favorite cars of all time.Any kid growing up in the 70's and 80's dreamed of having one, and now that you're in your 30's and 40's, it's entirely possible for you to own one! That's right, you can own one.
In 1993 I started seriously thinking about buying my first Ferrari. I bought every book I could find about buying a Ferrari, but nearly all of them focused on older Ferraris and V12 Ferraris. It was the beginning days of the Internet, so I searched for some type of online community, and couldn't find anything there either (this was the days before Forums and online chat rooms). So, I started my own mailing list - FerrariList.com. The FerrariList is an online email list that allows people to ask questions and discuss Ferrari related topics with other enthusiasts. It's been growing strong ever since.
Many of the questions posted to the list are from people looking for their first Ferrari, or from new owners with specific questions about the "new" Ferrari. The questions were common enough that we created an F.A.Q. with the answers to those questions. Although helpful, there were many questions that it didn't answer. It was also a volunteer effort, so some details weren't included.
In 2005 I started to put together a more detailed list of questions, as well as a Buyer's Checklist for pre-purchase inspections (PPI). There was enough information to fill a book, so I started writing the buyer's and owner's guide.
I wrote the book with two major purposes in mind. First, I wanted buyers to be familiar enough with the pitfalls of buying their first Ferrari. I wanted to make sure they understood the history of Ferrari, knew what to look for, and what to expect. Secondly, I wanted new owners to understand and be more comfortable with their new 308. require_once("308footer.php"); ?>
